Nice to pick up the W but it's concerning that the team is still showing somewhat of an inability to put together a solid 60 minute effort. I guess you could chalk it up to inexperience. There are just times when we are electric and others when we look lost in almost all of the games we've played to this point. I guess one big difference that I can see regarding that is that last year the 'lost' portion of the game often came during the first 10-15 minutes of the game and we'd find ourselves in a hole early. This year we seem to come out swinging for the most part. Also, Steve Downie is crazy. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. He's nuts. My two cents.

i was at the game..... and lets say the sabres are terrible!!! as for your concern about the avs looking lasklustre for parts of the game.... i'd say that it was a product of the game itself. the sabres were soo bad in the first 2 periods that it looked like it lulled the Avs to sleep for the third.
from my seats it just looked like they took their foot off the gas and tried to protect the lead for the third.
nothing to worry about, the are a lot better than last year.

I wish I had known you were coming. I would have welcomed you to Buffalo, NY. Where hockey season starts and ends in October.

Maybe this year but i think in that second and third period we saw what the Sabres can be, were giving the Avs defense fits. Giguere was huge.

Agree. I was at the game as well and the Avs just looked like they wanted to preserve the lead rather than put up more goals.

Also, although the duchene line combined for those points I thought the stastny line looked dangerous all night and was one of the best lines. Tough night for Mack, pa and McGinn though.

Overall a good win and another w that can be chalked up

Matt Duchene said the pace pace was so slow and it was a hard game to play or something along those lines.
